Mardaani 2 is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film[3] directed by Gopi Puthran and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films.[4] It is a sequel to the 2014 film Mardaani and features Rani Mukerji reprising her role of Inspector Shivani Roy.[5] The story follows Shivani who goes up against a 21-year-old villain (played by Vishal Jethwa). Aditya Chopra announced Mardaani 2 in December 2018,[6] and principal photography of the film began on 27 March 2019.[7] The film was theatrically released in India on 13 December 2019.[8]
